STEPS TO TAKE IF YOU FIND YOUR HOME OR BUSINESS FLOODED:

  1. Make sure everyone is safe.
  2. If you have any electrical wiring sitting in the water or the water level has reached the outlets around the room, it is best to not enter the area until the power has been shut off.
  3. If you believe you are dealing with a sewage backup, it might also be best to leave this to the professionals.  There is a risk of contracting a disease if you come in contact with the water or accidentally have some splash into your eyes.  Chances are that anything that has been in contact with the sewage is best just thrown out.
  4. If the water is not sewage and is not too deep, try to determine the source of the flood.  If it is a waterline break, locate and shut off the main valve.
  5. At this point, give us a call and then contact your insurance company to see if they will cover the flood.
  6. Be sure to take some pictures of the damage for your insurance company.
  7. If you have determined the area to be safe, you may begin moving contents out that you would like to save to a dry area while you wait for us to arrive.
  8. Put triple-folded foil under furniture feet if metal or wood.  If it has plastic feet or wheels, ok to leave as is if you do not have a dry area to move it to.
